FAQs
No, we do not allow outside cats, and we cannot accept animals directly at the catfe. If you need to surrender a cat, please contact our rescue partner, Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren (PAAW). We recommend reaching out to other rescues/shelters as well, as we may not always have the capacity to assist every request.
Teens aged 12 and older can visit unaccompanied. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, who is responsible for their active supervision throughout the visit.
Our adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccines, and microchip ID. For specific adoption fees, please refer to our Adoption Fees page.
While same-day adoptions are possible, we require an application screening process that may take longer than a single visit, depending on volunteer availability. If you are considering adopting, we highly recommend completing an adoption application prior to your visit to expedite the process started. If you do not have a specific cat in mind, simply enter “TBD” in the name field.
Teens age 12 and up can volunteer with a parent; ages 16 and up can volunteer with an adult over 18. Click here to learn more about becoming a Volunteer.
All of the cats at Avocato are rescue cats from our parent organization, Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren. We do not accept cats directly at the Catfe’ from the public. If you would like to see if space is available for PAAW to take a cat, please complete a surrender request form!
